FIU-IND Mandates FINnet Gateway for Report Submission

Current · Source: Reserve Bank of India · RBI/2012-13/373 · issued 10 Jan 2013 · ~1 min read
Quick answerFIU-IND has set October 20, 2012 as the go-live date for mandatory report submission via FINnet Gateway in XML format. CD-based submissions will be invalid after this date. All authorised persons must transition immediately.
The rule, in the simplest words
How it plays out — a real example

A gold‑loan officer in Indore receives a customer’s transaction details, creates the required XML file, logs into the FINnet Gateway, uploads the file before the deadline, and feels relieved that the submission is accepted, avoiding a regulatory warning.

What changed

FIU-IND confirmed October 20, 2012 as the go-live date for the FINnet Gateway, replacing CD-based report submission. After this date, only XML format reports uploaded via FINnet will be accepted; CD submissions will be considered invalid.

What it means for you

Banks and authorised persons must stop submitting reports on CDs and shift entirely to the FINnet Gateway using the new XML format. Non-compliance will result in submissions being rejected by FIU-IND, potentially leading to regulatory issues. This aligns with earlier test-mode guidance from October 2012.

What you must do

Who it affects

All authorised persons (banks, financial institutions, intermediaries) under FEMA, Entities required to submit reports to FIU-IND under PMLA

❓ Common questions
