Credit: Nothing new for credit today. Wednesday's bond buyback may ease funding.

Banker problem solver

A customer asks: my bank is frozen. Is my money safe?

One bank was frozen on Friday. The same question will reach many counters.

  1. Give the cover first. Each depositor is covered up to five lakh rupees.
  2. Say that the cover counts the money kept and the interest earned together.
  3. All accounts of one person in the same right are added together first.
  4. All branches of one bank count as one bank for this cover.
  5. Money in a different bank gets a fresh cover of five lakh rupees.
  6. Claims must be settled within 90 days of the order on the bank.
  7. Give the customer the official page so that he can read it himself.

Fraud and risk check
