1. Exchange at branches closed
Banks must note branch exchange and deposit of ₹2000 notes ended on October 07, 2023.
2. Exchange now at RBI offices
Individuals and firms can exchange or deposit ₹2000 notes only at the 19 Reserve Bank of India Issue Offices.
3. ₹2000 notes still legal
Banks must treat ₹2000 denomination banknotes as legal tender.
4. One circular still active
The September 30, 2023 circular on withdrawal of ₹2000 notes remains in force.
5. May 22 circular withdrawn
The May 22, 2023 circular on ₹2000 note withdrawal stands withdrawn.
6. May 19 circular partly valid
