What replaced what

The Reserve Bank often closes an old rule inside the new one, in a single paragraph near the end. Few people read that paragraph. So bankers keep quoting rules that are already closed. This page lists what was closed, what took its place, and from when.

How we know. We read the repeal paragraph inside each new rule on the RBI website. We record the paragraph number so you can check it yourself. We do not copy RBI's words. We do not guess.

Read the date before you act. Some repeals start at once. Some start only when the new rule commences, which can be a year later. Every row says which.

This is a reference, not legal advice. Always open the RBI link before you rely on a row.
